Since I completely my MSF corse I went to the DMV this morning and got the Motorcycle endorsement on my drivers license, which means I can legally ride with a passenger. I also got a set of OEM buddy pegs in the mail this morning.
So I got the kid geared up an covered in blaze orange, and we went for a little ride together.
We talked about leaning when I lean and keeping his hands around my waste without squeezing me to tight. And he followed instructions super well, which is not his strong suit lol.
When we got home he hopped off and said “That was fun!”. All in all today was a good day.

Oh, shit!
I hope you’ve covered proper handwashing technique, in that case.

Congrats!
I’m sure it will be a day he will always remember. Fifty years later, I still do.

That’s awesome! Congrats. I’ve been sharing rides up and down Woodward with my three boys in my truck. Only one at a time so it’s good one on one time. It’s awesome when they enjoy something you enjoy. Dad win.

I think Jonah is a lot like I was as a kid. He doesn’t care what we’re doing as long as we’re spending time together. My dad was a work aholic and very active in our congregation so we didn’t have much time to just hang out. I’m trying not to make the same mistake with my kid

I got the two wheel bug early, after seeing the movie On Any Sunday at 6 years old. I was already into cars by 4 years old, this was an extension of my motorhead childhood. At 7 years old, my uncle took me for a ride around Lake W innipesaukee on his Honda CB 350. He did much the same as you, explaining where to hold onto him and leaning with him. From that point on, I was hooked. At the age of 10 I got a job delivering newspapers, and that lead to lots of side jobs from my daily customers. I got an old mini bike that year, a better one the following year, and by the age of 13 I had a Honda 125 Elsinore and a 1962 Be etle. The list has motorcycles and cars has grown rather long since then. I am a car guy, but motorcycles are my passion, fueled by a movie and my first ride with my uncle.

I had a HD when I met my wife but she wouldn’t ride it so I sold it for a Mustang convert. I’ve been getting the itch to ride again, and spend way too much time on FB marketplace looking at HDs again. I don’t she’d be cool with me taking one of our boys for a ride on it tho..

When I first got the bike my wife told me not to take our son on it. But I’m just doing it anyway, she’s surprisingly cool with it...
